Sudanese giants Al Hilal SC have officially parted ways with Ivorian goalkeeper Issa Fofana, marking the end of a dedicated chapter in Omdurman. The club expressed its sincere gratitude to Fofana for his unwavering commitment, professionalism, and loyalty during his time with the team.
“Thank you, Issa Fofana, for everything you have contributed to our club — your hard work, commitment, and loyalty have left a lasting mark. You have been a true professional on and off the pitch, and we deeply value the dedication you have shown throughout your time with us,” read the club’s farewell statement.
Fofana, known for his consistency and calm presence between the posts, played a key role in several crucial matches for the Blue Wave. His departure marks not just the end of a tenure, but the beginning of a new journey, as he prepares to join Tanzanian outfit Azam FC.
Al Hilal wished the shot-stopper success in his next chapter:
“We wish you great success and fulfilment in your new journey with Azam FC. May this next chapter bring you even greater achievements.”
Fofana’s move to Azam FC signals a fresh challenge in the Tanzanian Premier League, where he is expected to bolster the club's ambitions both domestically and on the continental stage.
