🧤 El Mehdi Al Harrar Called Up to Morocco Senior Team Ahead of World Cup Qualifiers

Raja CA goalkeeper El Mehdi Al Harrar has received his first senior national team call-up, earning a place in the Morocco squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers against Niger and Zambia.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper has been in impressive form for Raja Club Athletic in the 2024–25 Botola Pro, making 20 league appearances, keeping 8 clean sheets, and recording a solid 77.9% save rate.

Al Harrar’s rise has been steady and well-earned. After developing at Chabab Mohammédia, he made the switch to Raja CA in 2024 and quickly established himself as a reliable presence between the posts.

Internationally, he first joined the Morocco A’ squad (local-based national team) in November 2024, and later featured prominently at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) — co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. One of his most memorable moments came in the semi-finals, when he denied Senegal’s Seyni Mbaye Ndiaye from the penalty spot, helping Morocco win the shootout 5-3 and reach the CHAN final.

Now, with a senior call-up under his belt, El Mehdi Al Harrar adds international recognition to his growing resume and is emerging as one of Morocco’s top young goalkeeping prospects.
