Juba, South Sudan – Kator FC head coach Nicola Peter Orat has declared that his side is not heading to Tanzania merely to represent South Sudan at the 2025 CECAFA Kagame Cup, but to make a powerful statement: "Kator FC is big, and Kator is present."

Speaking exclusively to Sports Hunter South Sudan on Saturday evening at Zahra Playground in Juba, just moments before the team's departure, Coach Nicola emphasized the ambition and hunger within his squad ahead of the regional showdown.

“We assure Kator FC fans that we’re going to deliver a message,” said Orat. “We’re not just participants—we’re competitors. Kator FC is present, and Kator is big. We call on our fans to support us—watch us, call us, believe in us. With the grace of God, we will perform to the Kator standard.”

On the Road to Tanzania

Kator FC departed Juba via land, boarding a Bebeto Coach bus through Uganda en route to Tanzania. The traveling delegation consists of 30 members, including 23 players, coaching and support staff, as the team sets its sights on leaving a mark in their Group C campaign.

Tough Group Awaits

Drawn in Group C, the South Sudan Premier League side will open their Kagame Cup journey against Al Ahly Madani of Sudan. The group also features Mogadishu City Club from Somalia, before a highly anticipated clash against Al Hilal SC of Sudan wraps up their group stage fixtures.

Coach Nicola remains undeterred by the competition:

“We respect our opponents, but we are here to compete—not just to show up,” he added.

Eyes on the Prize

With national pride and club legacy at stake, Kator FC enters the CECAFA Kagame Cup with a clear mission—to prove they belong on East and Central Africa’s biggest stage.
