Mali Coach Tom Saintfiet Names Squad for Crucial World Cup Qualifiers


Mali national team head coach Tom Saintfiet has announced his 25-man squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers against Comoros and Ghana.

The Eagles, currently sitting 4th in Group I with 9 points, face a critical window in their qualification campaign. They will take on second-placed Comoros on September 4, 2025, at the Stade Municipal de Berkane in Morocco, before travelling to Accra for a showdown with group leaders Ghana at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8.

The Fédération Malienne de Football confirmed on Friday that the team will begin its training camp on Monday, September 1, in Berkane, Morocco.

These matches are expected to play a decisive role in shaping the group standings as the race to the 2026 World Cup intensifies.
