Merriekh Bentiu Keeper Monged Elneel Called to Defend Sudan in World Cup Qualifiers

El Merriekh SC Bentiu’s goalkeeper Monged Elneel has been rewarded for his outstanding form with a call-up to the Sudan National Team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup African Qualifiers.

Sudan will lock horns with Senegal on Sept 5 at the Stade Me Abdoulaye Wade in Dakar, before traveling to face Togo on Sept 9 at the Stade de Kégué.

Elneel made headlines in South Sud


an earlier this season when he played a decisive role in Merriekh’s Super Cup victory over Jamus SC, saving two penalties in his debut match.

In a statement, the Bentiu club hailed their shot-stopper:
