Senegal stamped their authority on the court with a resounding 98-72 victory over Cameroon to secure third place at the AfroBasket 2025 in Angola. The Teranga Lions dominated from the opening tip, showcasing their trademark defensive grit and offensive sharpness.

A blistering start saw Senegal seize control early, racing to a 49-26 halftime lead. Relentless on both ends of the floor, they widened the gap to 78-48 by the end of the third quarter, leaving Cameroon with little hope of a comeback.

The Indomitable Lions rallied briefly in the final quarter, but Senegal’s composure and experience ensured there was no twist in the tale. The 98-72 win sealed a well-deserved bronze medal for the Teranga Lions.

This marks the third consecutive AfroBasket in which Senegal has finished third — underlining their consistency and cementing their status as one of Africa’s basketball giants.
