Yei Joint Stars FC Claim 2-0 Win Over She Corporate FC



Esther Anzoo led the way for Yei Joint Stars FC, scoring in both halves to guide the team to a 2-0 victory against Ugandan side She Corporate FC in an international friendly at Bugembe Stadium, Jinja on Friday.

The match was the final friendly before the Super Queens travel to Kenya for the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA qualifiers. Drawn in Group C, they will face former champions JKT (Tanzania) and JKU (Zanzibar).

South Sudan former interim head coach Cyprian Ashu believes the Bright Stars can challenge for qualification in Group B of the TotalEnergies AFCON 2027 qualifiers despite being drawn against Egypt, Angola and Malawi. Ashu, who was appointed as interim coach on March 12, 2026, in his second spell with the Bright Stars, successfully guided South Sudan past Djibouti in the preliminary round to secure a place in the group stages.
