10-Man Talanga FC Stage Comeback Victory Over Gurei City in KonyoKonyo League Thriller



Juba, South Sudan – Monday, September 29, 2025

Talanga FC pulled off a stunning comeback with a 2-1 win over Gurei City FC in Week 3 of the Juba Football Association First Division League, popularly known as the KonyoKonyo League, at the Bulluk Playground on Monday evening.

Corintyo Ayok gave Gurei City the lead in the latter stages of the first half, with his goal ensuring a 1-0 advantage at the break.

But the second half belonged to Talanga. David Ochongodok, widely known by his nickname "Aguero", brought the match level with a powerful header. Moments later, Lokang Alex outran the Gurei City defenders and coolly slotted the ball into the bottom-left corner, securing all three points for the side.

Talanga were reduced to 10 men in stoppage time, but held on resiliently to seal the win.

With the victory, assistant coach John Soka’s Talanga FC temporarily move to the top of the KonyoKonyo League table with 5 points. Coach John Simon’s Gurei City, meanwhile, remain on just 1 point after three rounds.
