Al Hilal FC Head Coach Nasreldin Suleiman remained upbeat despite his team’s 5-1 loss to Simba SC in Juba’s First Division League opener, at the Bulluk Playground on Thursday. Speaking after the match, Suleiman praised his players for showing character, especially in the second half.

“Defeat doesn’t mean the team performed badly. Simba took their chances well in the first half, but after the break we played our football and even dominated until the penalty changed the momentum. That shows the boys are improving,” he said.

The coach congratulated Simba on their victory, noting their experience and new signings made the difference. He emphasized that Al Hilal, with many academy graduates and first-timers on artificial turf, will only get better with time.

“This is the first time many of our players are playing together at this level. The second-half performance gives me confidence that our next matches will be different,” Suleiman added.

Looking ahead, the coach highlighted the long season still to come.

“We still have more than 13 games to play. This result will motivate us to prepare better. Our next match against Amarat is tough, but we will be ready. We’ll also play a friendly this week to give more players the chance to prove themselves,” he said.
