1 of the 2025/26 South Sudan Premier League saw Holy Family Rumbek and Bentiu City play out a competitive 1–1 draw on Monday afternoon at the Juba National Stadium.

Tet James gave Bentiu City the lead in the 16th minute, finishing off a sharp attacking move to put his side ahead early in the game.

But Daniel Dut brought Holy Family back into the match 29 minutes later, leveling the score with a well-taken goal to make it 1–1 heading into halftime.

The second half saw both teams create chances, but neither was able to find a breakthrough. The defining moment came in the 90th minute, when Holy Family were awarded a penalty. Dut, who had already scored once, stepped up — but was unable to convert, as the chance to seal all three points slipped away.

The result sees both clubs begin their campaigns with one point apiece. Based on goal difference, they sit just behind El Merriekh SC Bentiu, who currently top the early league standings.

The 2025/26 season features 14 teams and is shaping up to be one of the most competitive editions of the South Sudan Premier League yet.
