CAF Confederation Cup: El Merriekh SC Bentiu Coach Vows to "Fight with Everything" Against Azam FC

Juba, South Sudan – El Merriekh SC Bentiu head coach Ibrahim Hussein has issued a passionate rallying cry ahead of his side’s CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round tie against Tanzanian giants Azam FC, set for Saturday at the Juba National Stadium.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference on Friday, Hussein acknowledged the strength of the opposition but insisted his team is ready for the challenge.

“Azam is a big team with quality and experience – we respect them. But we are also a big team. Everything will be decided on the pitch,” he told reporters

With emotions running high, the coach made it clear that the stakes go beyond just football.

“We are going to fight with everything we have. I want to win – not just for the team, but for the fans, especially the people of Bentiu and all South Sudanese. They deserve something to celebrate.”

Hussein emphasized that the fixture is more than just a match – it's a symbol of national pride and unity.

“The players are motivated. We’re ready. Tomorrow is a chance to show our strength, unity, and spirit – not just as a team, but as a country.”
