Eliot Anderson Makes England Senior Debut in 2-0 Win Over Andorra

Eliot Anderson officially made his senior debut for the England national team on Saturday during their 2-0 victory over Andorra in Matchday 5 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup UEFA Qualifiers.

The 23-year-old midfielder, who plays his club football for Newcastle United, was handed his first cap by manager Thomas. T at Villa Park, a venue steeped in English football history.

England opened the scoring in the 25th minute after an own goal by Andorra’s Christian Garcia, before Declan Rice sealed the victory with a precise strike in the 67th minute.

The win keeps England top of Group K, with the Three Lions now firmly on track to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in USA, Mexico, and Canada

A Special Moment for Anderson

Making his debut at such a crucial stage in the qualifiers, Eliot Anderson took to social media after the match to express his gratitude:

"An honour to make my @England debut!" he posted.

It was a proud moment for the young midfielder, who previously represented Scotland at youth level before committing his senior international future to England.
