Gurei City FC marked their debut in the Juba Football Association First Division League—commonly known as the Konyokonyo League—with a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Munuki SC on Sunday.

The match, played at the Buluk Playground in Juba, saw the newcomers display defensive resilience against one of the league’s more experienced sides. Despite several chances created by both teams, neither side managed to find the breakthrough in what was a tightly contested encounter.

The result gives Gurei City their first point in Juba's top-tier regional league, and signals their intent to compete among the capital’s football elite.

Munuki SC, meanwhile, will feel they missed an opportunity to capitalize on their experience, as they failed to convert key chances in front of goal.

The Konyokonyo League continues to grow in competitiveness, with new entrants like Gurei City FC adding fresh energy and unpredictability to the campaign.
