 Joseph Malish “Magong” Applauds Fans After Heavy Defeat

Despite South Sudan’s 4-1 loss to DR Congo, Bright Star midfielder Joseph Malish, popularly known as Magong, has applauded the fans for their continuous support.

The 23-year-old Jamus SC player featured in the second half, coming on for William Gama, and afterward took to social media to share words of encouragement.

"Football can be unpredictable — sometimes it gives joy, other times pain. But no matter the result, we are grateful for you, the fans. Your passion and loyalty are the heartbeat of this team, and we thank you deeply for standing with us," Magong stated.

He added that the Bright Stars are now focused on bouncing back in their upcoming match against Mauritania in matchday 8 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup African Qualifiers on the 9th Sept 2025, in Nouakchott.

The Bright Star will be eyeing their first win in Group B of the African Qualifiers.
