Juju’s Revenge? Winger Fires Gudele to First Win Over ZalZal
Juba – Winger Isaih Dhata popularly known as Juju marked his return to Gudele FC in spectacular fashion, registering a goal and an assist in a 2-1 victory over his former club ZalZal FC during Week 2 of the Konyokonyo League on Sunday.
The match was Juju’s first appearance for Gudele since rejoining the club earlier this month — a move that followed the termination of his contract by ZalZal FC in June.
Despite not having trained due to work commitments and carrying injuries in both legs, Juju was instrumental in breaking the deadlock, playing a key role in what would become Gudele's first win of the season after a draw in their opening match.
“Sincerely, I wasn’t training — too much work,” Juju told reporters post-match. “But because it was against my former team, I said let me come. I have injuries in both legs, but I ran a lot and gave everything.”
Juju was substituted in the second half due to a knee injury, but his contribution had already made the difference.
The victory gives Gudele FC a valuable three points and momentum heading into the next round, while ZalZal FC continues to search for their first win of the campaign.
