Kator FC Begin Premier League Campaign with Dramatic Stoppage-Time Win Over Al Hilal Wau

Juba, South Sudan – September 30, 2025

Kator FC kicked off their 2025/26 South Sudan Premier League campaign in dramatic fashion, securing a late 1-0 victory over Al Hilal SC Wau in Week 2 of the season.

Anur Ali was the hero of the night, netting the match-winning goal in the 99th minute to seal all three points for the Juba-based side at the death.

The result marks a second consecutive defeat for Al Hilal Wau, who were edged 3-2 by Malakia SC in their opening fixture. Kator, meanwhile, did not feature in Week 1 due to their participation in the 2025 CECAFA Kagame Cup in Tanzania, where they exited at the group stage following a loss to Al Hilal Omdurman of Sudan.

Kator FC, who finished second in last season’s Premier League campaign, will take confidence from the late win as they look to challenge for the title this term.
