Malawi’s Sarah Mulimbika Shines in U-20 World Cup Qualifier
Malawi U-20 Women’s National Team winger, Sarah Mulimbika, proved to be a constant threat against South Sudan’s defense in their FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier played at Juba National Stadium.
The pacey and skillful winger was simply too much to handle for the Bright Starlets’ backline. Her explosive runs down the left flank, combined with well-timed and powerful crosses, kept South Sudan under constant pressure throughout the match.
Mulimbika’s dominance was eventually rewarded when she scored Malawi’s second goal — a fierce effort that began as a cross but swerved past the keeper and into the net.
Quick, technical, and confident on the ball, Sarah Mulimbika stood out as one of the top performers of the day, playing a key role in Malawi’s 2-0 away win in the first leg.
South Sudan will need to find answers to her threat when the two sides meet again on Friday, 26th September in the return leg at the same venue.
