Mali Dominate Comoros to Stay in World Cup Hunt — Crunch Clash with Ghana Up Next


Berkane, Morocco – Mali reignited their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification hopes with a commanding 3-0 victory over Comoros on Thursday, September 4, during Matchday 7 of the African qualifiers.

The fixture, held at the Stade Municipal de Berkane, saw the Eagles put in a clinical performance, with goals from Néné Dorgeles, Kamory Doumbia, and Lassana Coulibaly securing a crucial three points.

With this win, Mali move up to 12 points, tightening the race in Group I and cutting the gap to Ghana, who currently lead the group with 16 points.

 The stakes are now higher than ever, as Mali prepare to face the Black Stars in a potentially decisive showdown in Accra on Monday, September 8, as part of Matchday 8.
