Munuki SC Head Coach Kayanga John has responded to the South Sudan Cup (Juba) Round 3 draw against Amarat United, calling it a “tough one” but emphasizing the importance of respecting every opponent.
Speaking after his side’s 1-0 win over Bajur FC in the opening match of Week 3 of the Konyokonyo League at Buluk Playground on Sunday, 28th September 2025, Kayanga addressed both the Cup draw and his team’s upcoming schedule.
“Tough one, everyone is tough. That’s how football is — you have to respect every opponent,” he told journalists. “We hope it's going to be a nice game to watch.”
Commenting on the draw that pits two top-flight teams against each other early in the competition, Kayanga acknowledged that fans might have preferred to see such clashes in later stages.
“Maybe the unfortunate part for the fans is that you would want to see first division clubs meeting in the later stages, but that’s how the organizers have arranged it — so we have to prepare.”
With the Bajur game behind them, Kayanga says the team’s focus now shifts to upcoming fixtures, including the league game against Talanga and the Cup tie against Amarat United.
“The preparation and focus on Bajur is over — we’ve secured what we wanted. Now it’s time to move on to the next task,” he said. “The South Sudan Cup draw is a good one. To win a title, you must play against the best and prove yourself.”
