Olympic FC Renk staged a dramatic second-half comeback to earn a 2-2 draw against Koryom FC Bor in the opening round of the 2025/26 South Sudan Premier League at the Juba National Stadium, on Monday evening.

In a match that had all the makings of a classic, Koryom FC looked well on their way to three points after taking a two-goal lead. Achiraf Asiku opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark, giving the Bor side a 1-0 lead at the break. Dominic Abonga then doubled the advantage in the 68th minute, seemingly sealing the win.

However, Olympic FC Renk had other plans. Just two minutes later, Chanjwok Yousef pulled one back in the 70th minute, injecting belief into the Renk camp. He then completed the comeback with an equalizer in the 83rd minute, capping off an impressive turnaround and securing a valuable point on the road.

Last season, Koryom FC finished fifth with 46 points, while Olympic FC Renk struggled, finishing in 10th with just 23 points. The two sides split their head-to-head clashes in 2024/25—Koryom winning 4-0 in one encounter, and Olympic taking the return leg 1-0.

This opening draw signals a promising start for Olympic FC, who showed character and resilience. For Koryom, it's a case of two points dropped after being in full control of the game.
