Simba FC opened their 2025/26 Juba Football Association First Division League campaign in style with a commanding 5-1 victory over a 10-man Al Hilal FC on on Thursday.

Al Hilal, who were reduced to ten men during the match, struggled to contain Simba’s attacking threat as the game progressed. Despite moments of resistance, the numerical disadvantage proved too much to overcome.

Simba’s Head Coach Drichi Joseph credited the result to teamwork and improved preparation, especially after failing to beat Al Hilal in both fixtures last season.

“It’s all about hard work and planning as a team. We knew we needed to do better this time, and the boys delivered,” Drichi told Sports Hunter after the match.

With the result, Simba FC temporarily top the league table with 3 points and a strong goal difference, while Al Hilal FC sit bottom (15th) with zero points and work to do heading into Match Day 2.
