The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Simba Bhora FC following their hard-fought 1-0 away victory over Eswatini’s Nsingizini Hotspurs in the first leg of their CAF continental campaign, played on Sunday at the Obedi Itani Chilume Stadium in Botswana.
Describing the win as a proud moment for Zimbabwean football, ZIFA emphasized that Simba Bhora’s triumph goes beyond the pitch — symbolizing national pride and a significant step forward for the country's presence in African club competitions.
“This achievement is more than just a win. It is a proud moment for our country, as Simba Bhora flies the Zimbabwean flag high in continental football,” read an official statement from ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi.
As Simba Bhora prepares for a decisive return leg this coming Sunday, ZIFA reaffirmed its full backing for the club, calling on all Zimbabweans to unite behind the team in their quest to advance to the next round of the competition.
“With focus, determination, and collective spirit, Simba Bhora will once again rise to the occasion,” Magwizi added.
The ZIFA President also paid tribute to the players, coaching staff, and club leadership for their dedication and fighting spirit, noting that their progress serves as an inspiration to aspiring footballers across the country.
“Your journey inspires countless young footballers and strengthens the vision we have for the future of our game. Play with courage, play with pride, and know that you carry the hopes of a nation with you,” he concluded.
