El Merriekh and Talanga Play Out Goalless Stalemate in Konyokonyo League

Juba, South Sudan — El Merriekh FC and Talanga FC settled for a 0–0 draw in their Week 9 encounter of the Juba Football Association First Division League on Friday evening at the Bulluk Playground.

With the result, El Merriekh stay 2nd on 13 points, narrowly ahead of Talanga in 3rd, also on 13 points, separated only by goal difference.

 Both teams now sit three points behind league leaders Simba FC.

The match marked the first top-flight meeting between the two sides since Talanga’s return to the First Division this season.

Both clubs have enjoyed impressive starts — three wins and four draws from their opening seven matches.

El Merriekh continue to boast the strongest defence in the league, scoring 6 goals and conceding just 2.

Talanga, meanwhile, have shown attacking flair with 10 goals scored and 7 conceded in their promising comeback campaign.
