Hosts Ethiopia kicked off their U17 AFCON qualifying campaign with a convincing 2–0 victory over Rwanda.

Dawit Kassaw opened the scoring in the 31st minute, and Huzifa Shafi added a second in the 36th minute, securing a strong first-half lead.

The win gives the hosts an early boost as they look to make a statement in front of their home crowd.
