South Sudan Cup: Khor Al Salam Advance After Dominant 4–1 Victory Over Wunthon United
Melut, South Sudan, 16 November 2025 – South Sudan Cup (Second Round, Match 15)
Khor Al Salam marched into the third round of the South Sudan Cup, under Melut Football Association after delivering a commanding 4–1 win over Wunthon United on Sunday, at the Salam Playground, with forward Olmi Tiop shining brightly with a clinical hat-trick.
The match opened with early pressure from Khor Al Salam, and the breakthrough arrived in the 22nd minute when Zacharia Abdo Wahad calmly converted to put his side ahead.
The second half belonged entirely to Khor Al Salam. Just two minutes after the restart, Olmi Tiop doubled the lead with a composed finish in the 47th minute, before striking again in the 58th minute to extend the advantage and put Wunthon United under severe pressure.
Wunthon United pulled one back in the 67th minute through an own goal by Khor Al Salam goalkeeper Lam Okoj, who misjudged a routine play, giving Wunthon a brief lifeline. But any hopes of a comeback were dashed deep into added time when Tiop completed his hat-trick in the 90+1st minute, sealing a dominant performance for his team.
With the victory, Khor Al Salam progress to the third round, where they will face the winner of the much-anticipated tie between Imatong and Nujum Shortha scheduled for 19 November 2025.
