Juba, South Sudan 22nd March 2026 - Rainbow FC suffered a significant setback in their pursuit of the Juba First Division League—popularly known as the Konyokonyo League title—after being held to a 1-1 draw by a resilient 10-man Gudele FC on Sunday evening.
Gudele FC struck first through Yohana Ladu, who finished clinically from close range after being set up by Thomas, sending an early warning to the title contenders.
Rainbow SC, however, responded through Paul Gabriel, whose equalizer restored parity and set up a tense contest.
Both sides pushed hard in search of a winner, but it was Gudele who appeared the more dangerous side for large spells despite their precarious position on the table. Their determination was further tested late in the game when full-back Ayoub Boris was sent off, reducing them to ten men.
Despite the numerical advantage, Rainbow SC—under coach Kenyi—failed to capitalize, as Gudele held on firmly to secure a valuable point.
The result leaves Rainbow SC in second place with 41 points, still holding three games in hand but trailing league leaders Munuki SC by 15 points. Meanwhile, Gudele FC remain second from bottom with just 15 points, but will draw confidence from a spirited performance against one of the league’s top sides.
