Juba, South Sudan - 16th April 2026 - Eight nations will battle it out at the 2026 CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship, scheduled for June 13–23 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

CECAFA Competitions Manager Yusuf Mossi confirmed that all participating Member Associations have now officially registered for the tournament, which opens the 2026 women’s football calendar in the region.

Notably, Somalia and Sudan will make history as they feature in the women’s competition for the first time at international level.

However, South Sudan will not feature in this edition of the competition, missing out on the regional youth showcase, due to unknown reasons.

The tournament is expected to highlight the next generation of East and Central African women’s football talent.
