Malawi Settle for Fourth After Narrow Defeat to India in FIFA Series

 Malawi’s women’s national team endured a 3-2 defeat to on Wednesday, finishing fourth at the FIFA Series tournament in Kenya.

India, ranked 67th in the world, opened the scoring in the 18th minute through Oraon, but Malawi responded just before the break as Khumalo levelled in the 43rd minute. Singh restored India’s lead in first-half stoppage time, ensuring her side carried the advantage into the interval.

Malawi once again fought back after the restart, with Henry equalising in the 60th minute. However, Singh struck decisively in the 83rd minute to hand India all three points.

Head coach expressed disappointment with the result, attributing the defeat to lapses in concentration.
