Snakes Return to the Pitch

Juba, South Sudan: Munuki FC Juba resumed training, after the 1st round break. The snakes collected only 8️⃣ points from their 1st nine games of the season and currently occupies 9️⃣th position 3️⃣ points above the relegation zone.

The reigning Champions started their title defense under Coach Mayor who was sacked after only 3 matches in charge, that have seen them drawing in 2 matches and beating Al-Hilal FC by forfeit.

After the sacking of Mayor, the snakes suffered a humiliating 4️⃣-0️⃣ defeat to Kator FC but managed to bounce with back to back wins against Rainbow Juba Sports Club in Payam derby and Merriekh Juba under caretaker coach Juma Ambrose.

The defending champions ended the first round with a 1️⃣-0️⃣ defeat at home ground against Atlabara FC.

The 2021 Juba Local Football Association 1st Division League Champions will kick of their campaign in the postponed matches with a Payam Derby against Gudele FC on Saturday.

However, the club has not announced reaching any contract with the Simba FC Head Coach Simon James who is also a son of the area, but according to the pictures shared on the club official account, the 1 time league champions kicked off their preparations under coach Simon James at their Playground on Wednesday 10th Jan, 2024.

It's worth noting that, Simba FC is still serving their 1 season suspension by the JLFA.

Bright Stars Begin Preparations for 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers

The session was conducted under the guidance of Assistant Coach Simon James and Fitness Coach Brin George, with players from the South Sudan Premier League taking part. The foreign-based players, alongside Head Coach Nicolas Dupuis, are expected to join the squad in the coming days.
