SSFF Tightens Transfer Regulations With New Rules for Foreign Players Ahead of 2026/27 Season

JUBA, South Sudan – The South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) has approved a series of new transfer regulations aimed at tightening control over player registration, with a special focus on foreign player clearance ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The decision was taken during an emergency Executive Committee meeting held on Saturday, May 30, at the federation headquarters in Juba, chaired by President Francis Amin Michael, alongside First Vice President Makur Majok and nine committee members.

SSFF Secretary General Bak Athian Bak confirmed that all foreign player registrations will now be subject to stricter compliance requirements, including the mandatory possession of valid work permits issued by the relevant authorities.

He further stated that no foreign player will be cleared for registration without completing compulsory medical examinations, with official forms to be provided by the SSFF Medical Committee.

“The Premier League registration regulations were unanimously approved and will take effect from June 1,” Bak Athian Bak said, emphasizing that the new framework is intended to strengthen governance and improve the integrity of the transfer system.

The federation says the reforms are designed to enhance transparency, regulate player movement more effectively, and align domestic transfer procedures with international football standards ahead of the new campaign.
