South Sudanese fighter Thon Anyar, known by the nickname “Born Fearless,” has built an impressive multi-disciplinary career across kickboxing, Muay Thai, MMA, and boxing, emerging as one of the country’s most successful international combat sports athletes.

A Career Built on Progression and Power

Anyar first announced himself on the professional stage in 2018, when he captured the WKF South Sudan Kickboxing Championship, defeating a field that included Abayok Daniel, Kennedy Eliba, and Mike Kerbino. The victory marked the beginning of a steady rise through the combat sports ranks.

In 2022, he stepped onto the continental stage, winning the World Muay Thai Organization (WMO) Continental Title after defeating Uganda’s Joseph — a result that confirmed his ability to compete beyond South Sudan’s borders.

A year later, in 2023, Anyar strengthened his international reputation by claiming the WMO International Championship, overcoming Malaysia’s Chei Kei in a statement performance.

National Dominance and International Breakthrough

In 2024, he added another milestone to his growing resume, winning the South Sudan MMA Championship, emerging victorious from a competitive field that included seven fighters.

His breakthrough on the global Muay Thai scene came in 2025, when he became World Muay Thai Champion in Thailand. Competing against elite international opposition, Anyar defeated:

In 2026, Anyar reinforced his status on the international circuit by winning another World Muay Thai Championship in Pattaya, Thailand, defeating China’s Wei Lei in a high-level contest that further cemented his reputation as a consistent global contender.
