Amou Sarah Jaffar's Late Strike Gives South Sudan U-17 Starlets Winning Start

South Sudan's U-17 women's national team opened their CECAFA U-17 Girls' Championship campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Zanzibar in Group B in Tanzania, on Sunday.

After a tightly contested match, Amou Sarah Jaffar calmly found the breakthrough in the 78th minute, scoring the only goal of the game to hand the Junior Starlets a valuable three points.

The late winner ensured South Sudan made a perfect start to the tournament, earning an early advantage in a Group B lineup that also includes, Ugand,  and Djibouti.

The Junior Starlets will now shift their focus to their next group-stage encounter as they seek to build on an encouraging opening-day performance and strengthen their hopes of reaching the knockout rounds.
