The CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship continued at the KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with a tense Group A clash ending in a 1-1 draw between regional rivals.

Tanzania took the lead in the first half through Bahati Kizanguzi, putting the hosts in control as they pushed for a crucial win in the group stage.

However, Kenya struck deep into stoppage time when Jael Simiyu equalised in the 90+2 minute, rescuing a vital point in dramatic fashion.

The result leaves both Kenya national football team and Tanzania national football team level on seven points, with Kenya topping Group A on goal difference after a tightly contested campaign.

The tournament in Dar Es Salaam continues to highlight emerging talent across East and Central Africa, as teams battle for knockout-stage qualification and regional honours.
