CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship: Somalia Defeat Sudan in Final Group A Clash at KMC Stadium
The CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship Group A concluded at the KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with Somalia earning a convincing victory over Sudan in their final group-stage match.
Somalia produced an impressive attacking display, led by Sundus Mohammed, who netted twice (2’, 32’). Further goals came from Maryan Osobote (8’), Hatimo Isse (10’), and Nagma Mohammed, who completed a hat-trick with strikes in the 24th, 40th, and 81st minutes. Hibo Salad also got on the scoresheet in the 80th minute.
For Sudan, consolation goals were scored by Fatin Fadol (23’) and Nashwa Abbas (44’) in an entertaining but one-sided encounter.
The result confirms the final Group A standings, with both Somalia national football team and Sudan national football team exiting the tournament. Somalia finish third with three points, while Sudan end bottom of the group without a point.
Kenya national football team and Tanzania national football team top the group with seven points each, with Kenya finishing first on goal difference after a closely contested group stage.
