El-Merriekh SC Bentiu have officially appointed French-born Congolese coach Jean Claude Loboko as their new head coach on a one-year contract running until June 2027.

Loboko arrives with a strong reputation in South Sudanese football after guiding Jamus SC to an unbeaten 2024/25 South Sudan Premier League title and the South Sudan National Cup, completing a dominant double.

He replaces coach Ibrahim Husein, popularly known as “Abrahoma”, who left the club after reaching a mutual agreement with El-Merriekh SC Bentiu.

The experienced tactician previously enjoyed a successful spell in Juba, where his leadership and tactical discipline transformed Jamus SC into one of the most competitive sides in the country.

Before his time in South Sudan, Loboko managed CD Don Bosco FC and Blessings FC in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and also served as head coach of the DR Congo U-23 national team, further strengthening his reputation in African football.

El-Merriekh SC Bentiu will now look to benefit from his winning mentality and experience as they prepare for the upcoming season under his leadership.
