Juba, South Sudan In an exclusive interview with Sports Hunter South Sudan, Shamirah Fibi has opened up on her decision to join newly established Juba Queens, expressing strong belief in the club’s structure, vision, and commitment to developing young talent.
The promising midfielder, who signed a four-year contract, says the organisation and team philosophy played a key role in convincing her to become part of the project as the club continues to shape its identity in South Sudan women’s football.
“There is organisation, and secondly it is fully registering young talented players where no one is feeling big, and the players understand themselves easier,” she told Sports Hunter South Sudan.
Fibi believes Juba Queens offers the right environment for her growth, where young players are given equal opportunity to develop, compete, and express themselves both in training and matches.
The player, who has previously won school-level trophies and earned individual recognition, says she is determined to let her performances speak for themselves.
“I have trusted myself in everything I do, and I would like fans to watch our training sessions and friendly games to see my performance on the field. They can also look at my previous games, the trophies I have won for my schools, and my photos and video clips of good performances — maybe MVP or top scorer,” she said.
Confident and ambitious, Fibi insists her focus is on continuous improvement and delivering results when it matters most.
“I know I will prove them one day when the time comes by performing on and off the field and winning games,” she added.
With her arrival, Juba Queens continue to strengthen their project built on youth development, discipline, and long-term ambition in South Sudan women’s football.
