Jamus SC Face Regional Heavyweights in 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup
South Sudan Premier League runners up Jamus SC will compete in the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup after the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) confirmed the list of participating clubs for the regional showpiece tournament.
According to Xinhua, CECAFA Competitions Manager Yusuf Mossi revealed that league champions and top clubs from member associations across East and Central Africa have confirmed their participation in the tournament, which will be staged in Kigali, Rwanda, from July 24 to August 7, 2026.
Jamus SC will represent South Sudan alongside some of the region's biggest clubs, including APR FC and Rayon Sports FC of Rwanda, Young Africans SC and Simba SC of Tanzania, Al Hilal SC and Al Merriekh SC of Sudan, Vipers SC of Uganda, and Gor Mahia FC of Kenya.
Also confirmed for the competition are Mogadishu City Club (Somalia), KVZ FC (Zanzibar), and AS Port (Djibouti).
The tournament was awarded to Rwanda following a request by the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA), with matches set to take place in Kigali.
Jamus SC's participation offers the South Sudanese former champions another opportunity to test themselves against some of the strongest clubs in the CECAFA region as they continue to build their reputation on the regional stage.
The most recent edition of the tournament was won by Singida Black Stars FC of Tanzania, who defeated APR FC in the 2025 final.
