Junior Bright Star Players Undergone MRI Test

 


Juba, South Sudan: 5th December 2024: 

South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) has confirmed that the Bright Star U-17 National Football Team players have undergone MRI test in Juba, ahead of their participation in the CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations 2025 Qualifiers, in Uganda.

"As required by CECAFA, a total of twenty talented individuals have been given the green light to showcase their skills on the field. This step brings them one step closer to the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations." The statement read.

The Association added that, the test that aimed at  preventing issues related to age discrepancies and ensure fairness and accuracy in the age verification  process were overseen by a dedicated doctor from the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

"This accomplishment reflects the team's commitment to following regulations and competing with integrity."

The SSFA posted on its official social media handle today Thursday 5th December 2024.

The draw conducted by Jean Namayega Sseninde, the CECAFA Women’s Football Development Manager saw the 2022 runner's up South Sudan placed in Group B along side defending Champions Somalia, Sudan and Kenya.

The tournament which will bring together eight teams will take place at the Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo and St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende in Uganda between December 14-27th, 2024.

The best two teams will qualify to represent the CECAFA Zone at the CAF U-17 AFCON tournament to take place in 2025.
