Rwanda’s RSSB Tigers have been crowned champions of the 2026 Basketball Africa League (BAL) after edging Angola’s Petro de Luanda 90-88 in a thrilling final at a packed BK Arena in Kigali.

In a closely contested showdown on Sunday night, the Tigers held their nerve in the final moments to secure a historic victory and become the first Rwandan team to win the BAL title.

The triumph comes just months after RSSB Tigers were selected by the Rwanda Basketball Federation to replace APR in the Kalahari Conference, marking a remarkable rise to continental glory.
