She Corporate FC Midfielder Cissy Nantongo Passes Away

Ugandan football is in mourning following the passing of She Corporate FC midfielder Cissy Nantongo, a player remembered for her contributions to the domestic women's game and her role in the club's recent successes.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) expressed its condolences to Nantongo's family, friends, teammates, and She Corporate FC following the sad news.

During her career, Nantongo amassed an impressive collection of honors. She won the FUFA Women’s Cup with Olila High School WFC in 2017 and again with She Corporate FC in the 2023/24 season. She was also part of the She Corporate side that claimed the FUFA Women Super League title in 2021/22 and helped the club secure promotion by winning the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women’s Elite League in 2023/24.

On the regional stage, Nantongo contributed to She Corporate FC’s runner-up finish at the CAF CECAFA Women’s Champions League Zonal Qualifiers in 2022.

Her passing is a significant loss to Ugandan women’s football, with tributes continuing to pour in from across the football community.
