South Sudan U-17 Women Begin Journey Home After CECAFA Campaign

DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania — The delegation of the South Sudan U-17 Women’s National Team is already on its way to the airport, less than three hours after suffering a 7-0 defeat to Kenya in the third-place playoff match of the CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship at the KMC Stadium today tuesday.

The Junior Bright Starlets are expected to depart Tanzania at 10:00 p.m. local time tonight, marking the end of their regional campaign.

South Sudan's campaign in the regional tournament came to an end following the loss to Kenya, as the team missed out on a podium finish after reaching the third-place playoff.

Despite the disappointing result, the tournament provided valuable international exposure and competitive experience for the young South Sudanese side as they continue their development on the regional stage.
