Tanzania Crush South Sudan to Reach CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship Final

 



Hosts Tanzania booked their place in the final of the 2026 CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship after a commanding 4-0 victory over South Sudan in the semi-final played on Sunday at the KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Bahati Kizanguzi starred for the Serengeti Girls with a brace, opening the scoring in the 16th minute before adding her second in the 78th minute.

 Harrier Juma doubled Tanzania’s advantage on the half-hour mark, while Yacinta Kaluwa put the result beyond doubt with a goal in the 57th minute.

Tanzania dominated proceedings from start to finish, taking a 2-0 lead into the break before maintaining their attacking momentum in the second half to seal a comfortable win.

The Serengeti Girls will now face Uganda in Tuesday’s final after the Teen Cranes defeated Kenya 3-0 in the other semi-final. 

South Sudan, meanwhile, will take on Kenya in the third-place playoff.
