Uganda Cruise Past Kenya to Reach CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship Final

Uganda secured their place in the final of the 2026 CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship with a convincing 3-0 victory over Kenya in the semi-finals at KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Sunday evening.

The Teen Cranes made a dream start when Shadia Nabirye opened the scoring in the sixth minute, giving Uganda an early advantage.

Immaculate Achen doubled the lead five minutes before halftime to put Uganda firmly in control heading into the break.

Kenya pushed for a response in the second half, but Uganda remained disciplined at the back and sealed the result deep into stoppage time when Jael Simiyu inadvertently turned the ball into her own net in the 90+2nd minute.

The victory extends Uganda’s perfect record in the tournament and sends them into the final, where they will face hosts Tanzania, who defeated South Sudan 4-0 in the other semi-final.

Kenya will now take on South Sudan in the third-place playoff as the competition enters its final stage.
