Al Nassr Appoint Ange Postecoglou as New Head Coach

Al Nassr have officially appointed Australian coach Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach on a two-year contract.

In a statement confirming the move, the club said: “A new chapter… Mr. Ange Postecoglou has been appointed as head coach of the first football team on a two-year contract. We wish him and his staff all the best in their journey with Al-Alami.”

The Saudi Pro League champions, who recently secured the domestic title, move into a new era with Postecoglou taking charge of a star-studded squad ahead of the upcoming season.

Postecoglou arrives with a strong coaching résumé across Europe and Asia, and is expected to lead the club’s campaign in both domestic and continental competitions.

The selected players are set to begin training next week in preparation for a critical double-header against DR Congo and Mauritania. South Sudan former interim head coach Cyprian Ashu believes the Bright Stars can challenge for qualification in Group B of the TotalEnergies AFCON 2027 qualifiers despite being drawn against Egypt, Angola and Malawi.
