The Bright Stars continued their dominance on the glass, extending a perfect rebounding record through 12 straight World Cup qualifying games.

Rebounding once again proved to be South Sudan's biggest strength as the Bright Stars overwhelmed Libya 53-34 on the boards in their latest FIBA Basketball World Cup African Qualifier.

The commanding performance extended South Sudan's remarkable streak of winning the rebounding battle in all 12 of their World Cup qualifying games, underlining the team's consistency and physical presence as they secured another convincing victory.

The squad announcement was made public on Wednesday, August 20, through the official Facebook page of the South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF). The selected players are set to begin training next week in preparation for a critical double-header against DR Congo and Mauritania. Currently sitting fifth in Group B with just three points, the Bright Stars remain winless in their qualification campaign. South Sudan former interim head coach Cyprian Ashu believes the Bright Stars can challenge for qualification in Group B of the TotalEnergies AFCON 2027 qualifiers despite being drawn against Egypt, Angola and Malawi.
