South Sudan international and Jamus SC defender Samuel Taban departed for Egypt on Friday afternoon to begin rehabilitation for an ACL injury, according to reliable sources.

The versatile defender is believed to have picked up the injury while on national team duty.

Sources further indicate that Jamus SC, the South Sudan Premier League runners-up, are fully responsible for his treatment, including medical care and all related expenses during his stay in Cairo.

Taban recently renewed his contract with the club but has since been unable to join the team’s pre-season camp in Rwanda due to the injury setback.

He is now expected to miss upcoming assignments, including the CECAFA tournament.

Further updates on his recovery timeline are expected once medical assessments in Egypt are completed.
