CECAFA has praised Rwanda President Paul Kagame for his continued support to the Kagame Cup, including cash prizes for champions, runners-up, and third-place teams since 2002.

The CECAFA Head of Marketing and Communication Andrew Jackson made the remarks during the official draw ceremony for the 2026 tournament in Kigali.
