FIFA Youth & Elite Goalkeeper Coaches Training Kicks Off in Addis Ababa



The FIFA Youth and Elite Goalkeeper Coaches Training Program officially started on Monday in Addis Ababa, bringing together 35 participants, including 27 goalkeeper coaches from league and youth teams across Ethiopia and 8 coaches from the Somalia Football Federation.

The program was opened at the Jupiter International Hotel by Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) CEO, Bahiru Tilahun, who emphasized the federation’s commitment to raising coaching standards and addressing existing gaps in goalkeeper development. 

EFF Technical Advisor Amsalu Fantahun and the federation’s technical department also expressed their appreciation to all partners who helped make the training possible.

The five-day course, which runs until Friday at midnight, will be held both in the classroom and on the field.

 It is led by FIFA International Football Development Project Manager Christos Canales, alongside FIFA Goalkeeping Experts Alejandro Heredia, Ali Fuad, and Cameron Cox.

The program focuses on modern techniques, youth development, and elevating elite goalkeeper performance.
