CaF-Endorsed Instructor Training Kicks Off in Addis Ababa



The Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF), in collaboration with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), officially launched a high-level instructor training course today at the Bole Jupiter Hotel in Addis Ababa.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, EFF President and CAF Executive Committee Member, Mr. Esayas Jira, emphasized the importance of the program, calling it a rare and valuable opportunity.

"This kind of training is not easily accessible," said Mr. Jira. "We made this happen because Ethiopia is a great footballing nation. In a massive industry like this, we cannot afford to have a small number of qualified instructors. A good instructor develops coaches, and good coaches develop great players. That’s the path to long-term success. This is our moment to move football forward—let’s take it seriously."

The program has drawn 23 participants and is being led by Zambian Elite Instructor Honer Janza, a respected figure in African football development. The course is coordinated by Ethiopian instructor Hailu Zeleke and will run until September 2.

This initiative is part of CAF’s broader strategy to empower African nations through technical development and capacity building at the grassroots and elite levels.
